Tokyo Bedroom Orchestra - Komorebi

Just a couple of days ago I watched ‘Coda’ the documentary featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto. In the documentary he weaves man-made and natural sounds together in his works after the disaster at Fukushima. The very sad passing of ‘The Professor’ has left a musical void, but we can be thankful that his music has left delicate footprints for others to follow. ‘Tokyo Bedroom Orchestra’ are a fine example of his Legacy.

Tokyo Bedroom Orchestra has crafted a serene and delightful composition called "Komorebi" that features guitar and violin, as well as a mix of effects pedals, field recordings from nature, and cassette tapes. The term "Komorebi" is a unique and untranslatable Japanese word that beautifully captures the image of sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees, casting shadows on the ground or curtains and portraying the beauty of everyday life. I’m sure Sakamoto san would approve.
