Brutalligators - What's Next

Brutalligators, an indie-punk/emo band from Hertfordshire, UK, presents their exhilarating new song "What's Next." The track features a delightful blend of storytelling vocals, lively guitar riffs, playful basslines, and an infectious chorus.

"What's Next" delves into the realm of anxiety and disillusionment that often accompanies significant milestones in life, such as coming out, releasing a record, going through a divorce, or achieving "success." Lead vocalist Luke Murphy sheds light on the subject, explaining "It feels like every major life event is a point where things will get better. Anxiety builds and builds to the actual event, and more often than not, not much changes, which then makes you question when life will be 'fixed' or 'better'...".

Formed in late 2016, Brutalligators comprises Luke Murphy on vocals, Paul Wade on guitar, Simon Lee on bass, and Rhys Kirkman on drums. Drawing inspiration from midwestern emo acts like The Promise Ring, high-energy punk bands like PUP, and heartfelt Australian indie music like The Hard Aches, Brutalligators skillfully blend these influences to create energetic and uplifting songs that tackle themes of heartbreak, life's misfortunes, and the injustices of today's world.

After independently releasing their debut album, "Animals I Wish I'd Seen," in 2017, Brutalligators collaborated with Sjur Lyseid (known for his work with Little Hands of Asphalt and Sunturns) in Oslo, Norway to record their Christmas single, "Christmas in July." Their second EP, "Friends I Wish I'd Had," was released on July 12, 2019, under Real Ghost Records. Their highly anticipated debut album ‘This House is Too Big, This House is Too Small’ was released in 2021release under Beth Shalom Records.
