Star by Brooklyn based X Harlow throws together elements of industrial, darkwave and breakbeats effortlessly and is grittier than a New York road gritter. The track is a “Dark brooding dance track about addiction to fake feelings of celebrity on social media"
X Harlow is the solo project of Justin Schmidt (Blu Anxxiety). Started in the summer of 2016, X Harlow began playing shows in Brooklyn's underground music scene and became a frequent performer of DIY show spaces like the Glove and Heck. The music of X Harlow is introspective, moody, and heavily synth and rhythm driven with emphatic vocals centered on specifically political topics. The 2017 release of "Ceiling System" was a downtempo exploration of the politics of self in an age of unchecked police and state violence. In 2020, X Harlow released their debut full length entitled "Feuerwerk" which solidified a much heavier melodic industrial sound. "Feuerwerk" again explored the issue of American individualism, growing political divisions and gun violence.
