ul jyr (that song) is a rather beautiful piece from Juna. The gentle melodies, vocals and traditional instruments massage and diffuse the pressures of life. Engaging and hypnotic, it’s something to be treasured and enjoyed.
Juna is a band from Kazan that performs atmospheric indie-folk music in Tatar. They use classical Tatar poetry as well as the pieces written by modern poets to create songs. The band likes to explore colours of different musical instruments – that is why along with standard guitar, bass-guitar and keyboard they use ukulele, banjo, flutes, tampura, kajon, different percussion and many others.
