MUSIC RECOMMENDATION: Don Letts - Wrong

Wrong is the second single to be released from the debut album Outta Sync by the legendary DJ/musician/director/filmmaker Don Letts. As a pivotal figure in the movement in the 70s that brought together the punks and the Rastas and chart toping success in the 80s with Big Audio Dynamite, it may seem surprising that he waited until reaching the age of 66 to release his debut album. However, considering the importance of bringing together people of different backgrounds during a time of racial tension and social unrest fueled by a Tory government seeking to divide and rule in the 70s, now is a very appropriate time for Don Letts to spread his message. The album goes back to his Reggae roots with contemporary themes of  self identity against a smooth reggae backdrop. Outta Sync features guest musicians such as Terry Hall, Wayne Coyne, Hollie Cook, Zoe Devlin Love as well as his daughter Honor. Letts said of the album " It’s a product of what I am, which is Black and British. I think it’s inherently that. And it reflects the duality of my existence.”   The album will be released in the spring of 2023 on Cooking Vinyl Records. For now, enjoy the excellent taster Wrong.
