I like it when acts step away from the usual subject matters, not sure I have ever heard a song inspired by a fish? That's what you get with TVOD's rockin' good track Goldfish. On first play I was worried that the promising start would soon tank, but that's not the case here, the band cast out enough big hooks and vigorous noise to make this a winner. Furthermore, the excellent animated video is certain to catch the attention of even more fans.
TVOD (Television Overdose) are a Brooklyn-based experimental disco-punk outfit and this is the final single in their current trio of recordings. Speaking about the track, lead vocalist and songwriter Tyler Wright explains: "Our guitar player Jason and I were messing around before band practice one day and started hammering out these very primal bass & drum beats. I couldn't help but use my goldfish 'Phoebe' who had passed the day before as the writing inspiration for this song. I felt guilty about her biting the big one under my watch so I decided to write a song in which my friend Ted is actually is the one that murders her. RIP Phoebe. I blame Ted."
