Fresh Cuts from Malmö (Sweden) band Nordic Sad got me within the first few seconds, there's a reasonably long, pulsating intro with mechanical beats and gorgeous, gliding synths. That's just the start, once the strong male vocal climbs above the instrumentation, the song grows even more in confidence and style. Small details come and go, before the track plays out to the end.
Who are Nordic Sad? The band have been active since 2019 but they say "recordings have been marred by bad luck and curses. Hard drives have burned, the pandemic hit hard (respirator-hard), one member has entered rehab and another has been possessed by a demon". I am just glad they made it through to release this gem.
