Without a doubt, the video (directed by Sandra Ebert) for Modern Woman's single, Ford, is one of the best I have seen for a long time. The cinematography is outstanding - you must watch it. That's the visuals covered, now for the song itself. The instrumentation is great, all rattling drums, spiky guitar, grinding bass, cheeky pauses and clever inflexions. All that provides a solid framework for the characterful vocals of Sophie Harris, as she morphs between deadpan spoken word to full-on banshee.
