Some music to heal, relax and ease the pressures of the rat race.
In the words of Stony Point:
"I make what I call “environmental music”. There are so many beautiful sounds in the world around us, the musicality of which can be revealed simply through the act of careful listening. My goal is to draw our attention to beautiful environmental sounds by accompanying them with more traditional “musical” sounds. The resulting soundscapes sit somewhere at the intersection of field recordings, ambient, and contemporary composition.
The track ‘Live Room (Hafod)’ centres on the sound of rain on the roof of a wood cabin in the Hafod estate in Wales, UK. I’m fascinated by the dry, crackly timbre and intricate, non-metrical rhythms it creates. This sound is accompanied by ambient acoustic guitars and percussion, providing a textural backdrop for the beautiful sound of nature."
